cut out knit

Over the weekend, the weather was actually quite nice. It wasn't sweltering hot as it has been, thank goodness! I wasn't complaining because I got to wear my new sweater! How cute is it?? It has shoulder cutouts and its in the most fab orange-rust color! Perfect for fall :) I paired it with my favorite pair of thrifted DIY shorts and my fold over booties. So school and work has been keeping me very busy, so sorry for the lack of posts. I will probably only have one or two posts per week! Anywho, hope you all have a fabulous Monday!! Love you all~

wild child

I spent the day at the beautiful harbor taking in the sights and eating yummy seafood. Have you seen my new DIY leopard shorts? I LOVE them! I'm so happy with how they turned out-it was pretty easy to make. I wore a simple black tank and body chain to show them off. Hope you have a happy humpday Wednesday!!

Happy Friday! Yesterday was scorching. Usually by nightfall its chilly, but at night I didn't even need a jacket! I love breezy tops, this one has lady bugs and flowers! So cute~ I was lazy so I just threw on my shorts and sandals and I was ready to play. Hope everyone is staying cool and lovely! Happy Weekend!

meow

There's something about leopard and red...its perfection. I was so happy to find this flouncy top, which is actually a bikini top btw, at forever 21. I thought they were gone forever! And of course it goes perfectly with high waisted denim. I am a bit obsessed with high waisted shorts and studding them these days, I am actually gonna sell this pair because its a bit big on me. Store Envy site coming soon!!! Hope you are having a fabulous week so far!

red white and blue

Hope everyone had a safe, fun, and an amazing fourth! A little late, but here is how I spent mine. I went to the Del Mar fair with my family, now called the San Diego County fair. I will always call it the Del Mar fair though!! We spent the whole day there buying infomercial gadgets, eating fried goodies, riding elephants, and finished off with an amazing fireworks show. For the birthday of America, I wore my DIY American flag shorts. Festive much? hehe I love how they turned out and I got tons of compliments on them :) Today, continuing on with the patriotic theme I also wore red, white, and blue again! These are some super duper high-waisted shorts because it even covers my bellybutton, now thats HIGH WAISTED! lol. And I'm completely in love with them and can't believe I found them at the thrift store and it fits perfectly. And this polka dot denim bustier !!! Obsessed! Hope you all have a super weekend

classy. never trashy

I absolutely LOVE my House of Holland suspender tights! I got a lot of gawking and stares from people yesterday. Its just tights with a design on them, RELAX! hehe. I couldn't wait to wear them with my DIY ombre shorts. They're still waiting to be studded up! I just haven't had the time to do it! Don't mind the trash dumpster behind me. The Birkin bag classes everything up, doesn't it? LOL. Hope you are having a super Monday!!

DIY: hello kitty nails

I saw some pictures online of hello kitty nails and I got inspired to try and do some on my own since I'm a Hello Kitty Lover! I just used what I had on hand in my extensive nail polish collection and luckily I had all the colors I needed. After many toothpicks and chocolate breaks, I finally finished. It was a bit tricky and very time consuming, but it was fun and I'm kind of proud of them, although there are some bumpy parts and not all the eyeballs and nose are the same size.

Here's what I used:
1) Red Nail polish, I used Nic's Sticks by Nicole by OPI in "Date Night". Its a red color with glittery shine.
2) Black Nail Polish, I used a very dark navy blue which looks black thankfully, Nicole by OPI's "No Limits"
3) White Nail Polish, I used OPI's "Alpine Snow"
4) Yellow Nail Polish, I used OPI's "Need Sunglasses"
side note: don't you just love OPI/ Nicole's nail polish names? So cute.
5) Top Coat, I used Nicoles.
6) a lot of toothpicks, preferably ones with one blunt end.
7) Nail polish remover

BTW, please excuse my ugly, long weird fingers. And also the messy marks, I took these photos right after I finished them! :)
Step One: Paint all nails half white (french tip) Paint a little more than a classic french tip, as this will make it easier to paint on the bow and face. If you do not have a steady hand, don't worry, you can use a little brush and erase the excess white away with nail polish remover.
Step Two: With the red nail polish you can either brush or use a toothpick to dab on the bow in the bottom corner of each nail. I used both since it was harder to do on my right hand.
Step Three: With another toothpick, dot the eyes using the black (dark blue) nail polish. This part gets hard because its hard to make the eyes symmetrical.
Step Four: Using the blunt end of a toothpick, add on the nose with the yellow nail polish
Last Step: Whiskers~ Using the toothpick again, strip on the whiskers. Three on each side, then VOILA! Don't forget to add top coat!! I applied 3 coats to help ensure this lasts super long!!
Happy Hello Kitty Nail painting!!
XOXO
